My evaluation and experience
The Black Diamond Apollo LED Lantern has saved my evening several times. During the last course with a group of children in the forest, when we were sitting by the campfire late at night, its glare-free LED light was exactly what we needed.
With its 225 lumens, it easily illuminates our camp and ensures that we can sort our equipment without any problems.
Especially practical I find the option to operate the lantern either with the integrated battery or with AA batteries. This gives me the flexibility I need in the forest. The battery lasts up to 90 hours, which is more than enough for a weekend.
And if the battery does run out, I can simply switch to batteries or use my BigBlue 28W Solar Charger for recharging in the summer.
The Apollo Lantern is not only robust, but also versatile. With the folding legs, I can place it on the table or hang it on branches thanks to the hooks. It fits easily in the backpack and weighs just under 250 grams.
The dimming function and the blinking mode are additional features that I wouldn't want to miss anymore.
For hikers, campers, and bushcrafters, the Apollo Lantern is an essential companion. It is ideal for those who spend a lot of time outdoors and rely on reliable light. However, if you are looking for a headlamp, this lantern is not the right one for you. For anything else where you want your hands free, it is perfect.

I particularly like the option to power it with either the integrated rechargeable battery or AA batteries. The dimmable LED provides pleasant light that doesn't blind.
I also find the foldable hooks practical for attaching the lantern to branches or tent poles.
With a burn time of up to 90 hours and its robust construction, it is a reliable companion.
