First of all: I'm not a big fan of sandals. Not even a small one. But there are exceptions. The KEEN Uneek Sandals definitely belong to that category. But, from the beginning.
A few years ago, I was looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and airy shoe for simple outdoor activities like paddling, as well as shorter hikes and mountain biking tours. Additionally, for personal use beyond forests and trails.. The KEEN Uneek Sandals proved to be a perfect fit for that. At least for the first three years.
The woven cord of these outdoor sandals fits perfectly to your feet and ensures an individual fit. The open design keeps your foot comfortably ventilated, and you won't sweat in them even in summer temperatures. The nylon cord gives the sandals additional strength and flexibility.
You can rely on the non-slip rubber sole. Even on wet surfaces, it provides a very good grip thanks to the special tread.
The anatomically shaped footbed optimally supports the arch of the foot and cushions each step gently. This makes it easy to master longer tours without tiring your feet. And if the sandals get dirty, they can be easily cleaned with some water and mild soap.
I think the KEEN Uneek Sandals are perfect for anyone who spends a lot of time in nature - whether as a hiker, camper or wilderness enthusiast. Of course, they do not replace full-fledged outdoor shoes for all activities in nature, but they are not intended for that either.
The KEEN Uneek convince me. However, I must mention that after about three years (sometimes intense use), the soles of both shoes showed cracks and ultimately broke. In those three years, however, the shoe completely convinced me. Therefore, I do not deduct any points for that.
Currently, I am seriously considering getting the KEEN Uneek again. That says it all about this sandal.
