Review and rating of the product
Hi, I'm Martin. Through my experience of living in the wilderness and doing nature crafts, I know how important the right equipment is. I want to help you to be well equipped for your adventures. More about me on my "About me" page.
Today, let's take a closer look at the product "Morakniv Eldris Fixed-Blade Pocket-Sized Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade".
For years, the small Morakniv Eldris has accompanied me on all my trips. Whether hiking through the forests, on survival courses, or camping with my children - this little piece of Sweden has never let me down.
The compact blade made of stainless 12C27 Sandvik steel is only 5.6 cm long, but extremely sharp and eagerly bites through wood, ropes, or food.
Even fine carvings can be made with the thin blade tip. The color-coated plastic handle fits securely and ergonomically in your hand, whether dry or wet.
The Eldris impresses not only with its versatility as an everyday knife, but also because of its robustness.
I particularly like the angular knife back because I can use it with my fire steel.
Unfortunately, it can only be worn around the neck because the knife sheath lacks a belt holder. However, this does not bother me, I prefer to wear it around my neck.
In over 5 years, I could not find any signs of wear - this thing is forged as if by Odin himself! 😊 I like it so much that I even have two of them.
So who is the Eldris suitable for?
Due to its compact size, it is an ideal back-up or everyday knife for outdoor enthusiasts, bushcrafters, campers, and survival tactics fans. The short blade makes it recommendable for city dwellers as an EDC knife. However, those who prefer large blades for chopping and striking are in the wrong place here.
In my detailed review you will also find more information about the Eldris.
Other buyers especially praise the extraordinary sharpness, the top processing, and the robustness of the small heavyweight. Some only criticize the relatively high price for a Mora knife and the lack of a belt loop.
Customer reviews indicate that the Morakniv Eldris pocket knife is very popular in the community. Users particularly praise the compact size, which makes it ideal for everyday use.
“This knife is the perfect size to carry around on a daily basis. Big enough to be practical, but still not ‘scary’ to the public.”
The sharpness and quality of the blade are also highlighted:
“razor sharp and feels good in the hand. It is fully ambidextrous and you will love it”
The good build quality and robustness of the knife are also mentioned positively:
“Another great Mora, my only complaint is that it is a little bulky for such a small knife.”
Overall, the Eldris seems to be a high-quality, versatile pocket knife that is appreciated by the majority of users for its portability, sharpness and quality. The average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars indicates a very high level of customer satisfaction with this product.
My conclusion: The Morakniv Eldris is a small powerhouse that can easily compete with much larger and more expensive knives. The sharpness and robustness are phenomenal, the handle fits perfectly in my hand.
If you purchase the set with a fire starter, you are well-prepared for any outdoor situation. Sure, the price is significant, but a knife for life, with which you can do a lot, is a worthwhile investment for me!
Based on my tests and usage, I rate the product "Morakniv Eldris Fixed-Blade Pocket-Sized Knife with Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade" with the following score:
10 out of 10 points
