My evaluation and experience
When I was recently out in the woods with my children, the Hultafors OK4 Bushcraft Knife came in handy once again. We wanted to make a small campfire and I used the OK4 to split the wood (Batoning).
Thanks to the 9.4 cm long and 3 mm thick carbon steel blade made of hardened Japanese steel (hardened to 58-60 HRC), this was no problem. The Scandi grind ensures a sharp yet robust blade that is perfect for carving and for light woodwork.
Even the handle feels comfortable in the hand, even when wet and cold. With a total length of 20.7 cm and a weight of 118 g, the Hultafors OK4 is compact enough to comfortably carry it on your belt. There, thanks to the practical plastic belt loop, it can be safely stored.
A cool feature is also the specially sharpened spine of the blade, which can be used to strike sparks from a fire steel. This provides a reliable way to ignite a fire. The printed scale on the blade also helps with measuring and marking.
