Trangia stove with Gas: A Powerful Alternative

Who would have thought that there is a way to make the proven Trangia stove even more efficient?

The answer lies in the gas!

If you replace the spirit burner in your storm cooker set (whether in the small or large version) with the gas burner, you will experience an entirely new dimension of outdoor cooking. Meals can be prepared quickly, odorless, and soot-free.

It is a simple conversion from spirit to liquid gas, which is particularly suitable for the TRANGIA cookers 25 and 27.

It is about the gas cooker with connections for gas cartridges with threaded valve, which complies with the Euro standard EN417.

Another plus point: You can boil 1 liter of water in just 3.5 minutes. And with a weight of only about 180 g, it is also easy to transport.

My personal impression

The gas burner has improved my Trangia Set 25 and made it significantly more powerful. It fits seamlessly and comes with a sturdy little bag that fits perfectly into the Trangia kettle for transportation.

Although I have switched to gas, I still carry the alcohol burner with me - you can never be sure if the gas will run out.

Especially impressive to me is the adjustment wheel: it is sturdy and allows for precise control of the gas supply. Even at a medium setting, the water boils in no time.

Final word: Buy or not?

The Trangia stove is a versatile and reliable stove that is well-suited for a variety of outdoor activities.

He is easy to use, cooks efficiently, and is compact. However, due to its weight, it is not suitable for multi-day hikes or ultralight trekking.

Although it comes with some challenges, such as a slightly longer cooking time and higher fuel consumption compared to some other stoves, these are small prices to pay for its reliability and versatility.

With the right care and maintenance, the Trangia stove can serve you faithfully for many years.

I hope that this guide has helped you to learn more about the Trangia stove and decide if it is the right cooker for you.
